The feature film Vinski and the Invisibility Powder, released in 2021, is getting a sequel. Filming of the sequel began at the end of March in Estonia.
Juha Wuolijoki returns to direct Vinski and the Invisibility Powder 2. The script is written by Wuolijoki and Jari Olavi Rantala. The film is shot by Jussi-awarded cinematographer Mika Orasmaa FSC. The sequel is produced by Juha Wuolijoki and Laura Salonen for Snapper Films Oy. Nelonen Media distributes the film.
Kuura Rossi returns to play Vinski. Other actors in the sequel include Pirjo Heikkilä and Martti Suosalo.
Filming began at the end of March and wrapped at the beginning of May. The film was shot in Estonia and Finland, including Porvoo.
The first Vinski and the Invisibility Powder was released during the pandemic but gathered an audience of over 107 000 viewers in theaters. The film was nominated for 5 Jussi-awards. The first Vinski and the Invisibility Powder was sold to over 50 countries. The films are based on the beloved 1954 novel Koko kaupungin Vinski by Aapeli.
Vinski and the Invisibility Powder 2 premieres in early 2026.
