A beloved Finnish family film, Christmas Story, makes a historical return to cinemas.

Christmas Story, directed by Juha Wuolijoki, which tells the touching story of how Santa Claus became Santa Claus, returns to cinemas this Christmas, 18 years after its premiere.
Released in 2007 and produced by Snapper Films, the Jussi Award -winning Christmas Story has captured the hearts of audiences for years both, in Finland and internationally. In Finland, Christmas Story has drawn an audience of nearly 300 000 and internationally it has been seen by more than million people in cinemas alone. The film has been sold to over 120 countries, making it one of most widely distributed Finnish live action films.
The film stars a cast of well-known Finnish actors. The lead role is played by Hannu-Pekka Björkman. Other roles feature Laura Born, Kari Väänänen, Mikko Leppilampi, Minna Haapkylä and Antti Tuisku.
In 2008, Christmas Story‘s English language version premiered at Marché du Film, one of the world’s most important film markets. The English dub includes voices from notable American actors, including John Turturro (The Big Lebowski), Noah Emmerich (The Americans), and Michael Badalucco (The Practice). In the United States, Christmas Story is available on Amazon Prime this Christmas.
Cinemas across Finland are showing Christmas Story starting December 1.
