“A big ego faces reality”
Los Angelesin kuningas (King of Los Angeles), directed by Juha Wuolijoki is the story of Eero Lahti, a professional Finnish hockey player, whose career in Los Angeles comes to a sudden halt and his stardom begins to inevitably vanish. On top of all this, as Eero tries to recover from the sixth concussion of his career, his wife Anni gets fed up with being a hockey wife and files for divorce, thus freezing their mutual assets. As Eero rushes his agent Lauri to negotiate a new contract for him and get some lucrative PR-deals, he is forced to move to a modest beach house and act as the landlord to his wife’s eccentric, singer-songwriter brother Aamos. But Eero is still optimistic as he is supported by his vast ego, which puts him on the collision course with his new, more ordinary life and also the looming big decisions about his future. His extreme competitiveness together with the overblown fantasies about his abilities are still there to lead Eero to constant troubles and awkward situations.
The drama-comedy (10x 24 min) produced by Snapper Films will be released by Ruutu/ Nelonen Media in Finland.
