Valhalla Project (Operaatio Valhalla) is a high-stakes mystery action thriller that explores the concept of parallel dimensions through two different timelines – portraying 1991 Russia alongside present-day Finland to create a compelling drama that involves a missing father, an environmental crisis, and corporate espionage on an international scale.
Climate researcher Alina Railo travels to Finnish Lapland with an international expedition to seek access to a parallel universe with hopes of finding a solution to the climate crisis – a parallel universe initially researched by her father, who disappeared in Lapland over 30 years ago.
Incorporating universally relatable themes of humanity, identity, and the limitations of life, Valhalla Project is a multilanguage drama featuring mainly English alongside Finnish and Russian dialogue.
In addition to starring Sara Soulié (Conflict, Hammarskjöld, The Man Who Died) in the lead role, this mystery thriller features a stellar cast of internationally recognized actors, including Alistair Brammer (Les Misérables, Medieval), Iben Dorner (Borgen, Thin Ice), Joonas Saartamo (Silence, Utö) and Pääru Oja (Vikings: Valhalla, Cold Courage).
Filmed in subzero locations in Helsinki, North Karelia, and Lapland in Finland, Valhalla Project’s principal creatives are internationally recognized award-winning filmmakers creator and writer Jari Olavi Rantala (Deadwind, The Unknown Soldier), and director and producer Juha Wuolijoki (King of Los Angeles, Christmas Story, Vinski and the Invisibility Powder).
Produced by Snapper Films, this 6 x 45 minutes Elisa Viihde original series premiered in Finland in the fall of 2024.
